Residential PV Solar
What is Cost of a PV solar system?
Depending upon the system choice, installation conditions and technology selection an installed system for a normal household can cost between $600 to $1200 per kWp
Whats the system warranty?
The warranties come in three categories
a) Workmanship including, leakages from 2-10 years (check before you engage an installer)
b) PV solar panels 10-25 years for manufacturing and 25 years for performance
c) Inverters 5-12 years, there are warranty extension options with some manufacturers
All the warranties are subject to manufacturer’s installation and maintenance procedures.
Would the system needs maintenance?
There are almost no moving parts in the system but periodic cleaning, IP integration check and performance comparison are recommended. Also, check for any pest habitation.
Who is accreditation body for the installer and retailers?
Clean Energy Council, lays down the responsibilities for the system installers and retailers.
Clean Energy Council | Renewable Energy Australia
Commercial PV system
Is an energy bill enough to size an installation?
An Energy bill won’t be enough to calculate exact size and design a system. Existing Operations, equipment details, electrical parameters such as power factors at different load conditions etc. will need to be calculated and integrated into a design to optimize the installation.
How much a commercial system costs
Good quality commercial solar power in Australia costs approximately $1,000 – $1,400 per kW installed, or as low as $800 per kW if you install 20-30kW. It’s not uncommon for payback on commercial solar systems to be achieved within 4 years. Always Confirm what charges on the bill will be reduced when solar panels are installed, and by how much
